We know that the console has to be rebooted if we use the firmware 1.0. With Cobra ODE update V1.1, the game selection can be validated without rebooting the console. Once the game selection is done through the manager, the game will be loaded after ejecting and reinserting the disc in the drive.

From Cobra ODE FAQ part, we know that Cobra ODE can support homebrew apps as long as the homebrew apps do not use CFW-specific syscalls. There is a switch on Cobra ODE PCB to select Emulation mode or Passthrough mode. In passthrough mode the ODE hardware is completely bypassed.
